Gianna and her Daddy

One of the hardest things for me to deal with in this whole process is that I will not be present for every second in Gianna's life, but this video proves that I chose the best Daddy ever for Gianna. She is my precious miracle!!!!

Quote of the day

I never knew how much love my heart could hold until someone called me “Mommy.”

Gianna Kick, Kick, Kick

Gianna and I took a mommy and me swimming class that was two weeks long. I knew she was doing a good job, but the other day at the pool confirmed this. Tami and I went to a playgroop on Friday where we were supposed to go swimming. Of course we got there and it was freezing and windy, but Gianna wanted to go in the pool so I told Tami to put floaties on Gianna. I figured because it was so cold she would put her feet in and get out. I was wrong. She got in the pool and took off. It was nice because I did not have to get in. She just kicked around the pool and giggled. If she got anywhere near her cousin Peyton she would kick harder and just laugh hysterically trying to catch him even though she had no shot. I am absolutely amazed at how fast she is growing up.

Gianna's swimming lessons

Thanks to Grandma Fortunato we were able to sign up for a Mommy and Me swim class. Gianna had a blast the first day. The reason she is only in half a swim suit is that she is so small and skinny that I have been unable to find swimming diapers in her size so thankfully the host of the swim classes had the bottoms of a swim suit that would work. She is learning to blow bubbles in the water, kick her legs, hold on to a wall and dunk her heads under water. She loves it. After her first swim class she was so tired she fell asleep on the 10 minute drive home. She was so hungry after that she had a taco for dinner. I am so amazed at how fast she is growing and changing. I am amazed at how smart she has become and hope that I show her everyday what a miracle she is to me.

Gianna's new bad habit

For some reason Gianna has decided that she likes to drink out of her sippy cup and instaed of swallowing the liquid she would rather spit it out on herself. I try not to laugh, but she just smiles and I can't help myself. I will probably regret laughing later on. Oh well!!

One Year

You will probably notice that in some of the pictures they have the wrong name on them. This is because the photographer put the wrong name on the photos and would not go back to change them because she knew her mommy was a cheapo and was not going to buy them. I had already shown her my coupon for $7.99. Oops!! Sorry!!

Gianna's First Birthday

We celebrated Gianna's 1st birthday with the Fortunato family on Easter. Grandma and Grandpa got her a princess bike. Aunt Gina, Uncle Levi and Levi's father got her a guitar, a pullable phone, a singing princess book and another talking toy. Gregg and I got together on her birthday to open presents from us and Mike and Candice who live in Reno so they sent gifts. They sent her books, a movie and puppets( which you will see in the pictures that she is scared of)Sorry!! We celebrated her birthday with the Slack family the following day. To my disbelief, I do not have one picture of our celeration with the Slack's. If anyone happens to have any I would really appreciate them. To give them credit: Grandpa got her sugar and more sugar. Grandma made her a princess bed set. Rumseys got her puzzles. Huntsmans made her and her mommy matching PJ's. Collins gave her a gift card to Babies R Us which we have already spent. She picked out snacks and toys. Waites got her books and suckers(which my sisters know save me when I make the 40 minute drive from their side of town). Richs got her a baby (which she has never put down since) and suckers.

Gianna's First Easter

Thanks to a few of my sisters who took the initiative to plan something this year year, Gianna had a great first Easter. We celebrated Easter with the Slack family on Saturday. We started our day at the park with coloring eggs, then we had an Easter egg hunt and lunch. After lunch we had sack races and three legged races. We ended our day with a good old game of freeze tag. Thanks again to those sisters who started a new tradition for our family.

Mommy making an idiot of herself

Just so everyone knows, three of the five sisters who were racing are pregnant and I am the one who fell. Go figure

We celebrated Easter with the Fortunato Family on Easter Sunday. We started out our day with doing an Easter egg hunt at Gregg's house. We then went to Aunt Gina's house for dinner and opening baskets. Unfortunately, I only took video of her doing the egg hunt at Gregg's and it is too large to post.

WOW!! They learn fast.

This is Monday the 6th. I am so amazed that in a matter of two days she is walking so well. Ok, again I am a little embarrassed about the way Gianna and the house look. I swear my child is usually dressed. Maybe it is in last nights pajamas but she is still dressed. The house I have no excuse for. Anyone who knows me well knows that is the way it usually looks.

Are children allowed to start walking before they say Mommy?

This was Saturday the 4th. All of a sudden she just started walking. I was almost not going to post this video due to the way my daughter looks (Why did I not take the three seconds to button that onsie), but then I figured who cares. She is loved and that is all that matters. So I tell myself!!

Today I took Gianna to Gilcrease Bird Sanctuary with my sisters Tami, Tara, Trista and four of my neices and nephews. Gianna loved the birds. When we got to the petting zoo area she took a peanut and tried to feed a goat like all of the other kids (of course I did not have my camera ready. The goat grabbed the peanut from her hand and she freaked out. The rest of day she wanted to look at everything but would not go near any of the other animals.
